    Transport and Delivery

Our just-in-time deliveries are fulfilled by our logistics parter, AMX Services, who deliver to all areas of the United Kingdom on a daily basis. AMX Services was founded in July 2001 to provide the Amerex Steel Group with a complete transport solution. Through continued investment in information technology, staff training and equipment, we supply our customers with a total haulage system. Our 15-strong fleet of articulated vehicles cover every corner of the UK, delivering efficiently, cost effectively, and to the highest possible standards.

    Warehousing and Storage

    Brass Sheet

    Brass Sheet

With its unmistakable golden hue, everyone knows what brass looks like, but it’s its properties that make this metal such a perennially popular choice. An alloy of copper and zinc, brass sheet is used for everything from screws to radiators. Brass is great for hot forging and engraving; it’s also highly resistant to corrosion, brilliant at conducting heat and boasts a high tensile strength.

Our brass sheet, CZ108, is also known as basis brass. It’s extremely flexible and just the job when severe bending is needed. Containing 37% zinc, its high purity makes it workable at both hot and cold temperatures, which is why it’s one of the most sought after varieties of brass sheet. Suppliers of all kinds of sheet metal, we can provide your CZ108 in exactly the size you need, with no minimum order. If it’s polished brass sheet you’re looking for, just let us know – we can arrange for your CZ108 to be buffed before it comes to you.

    Copper Sheet

    Copper Sheet

Instantly recognisable by its unique, orangey hue, copper sheet is a distinctive, malleable metal that’s up to hundreds of jobs. One of the basic chemical elements (CU in case you’ve forgotten your Periodic Table), it’s been popular for millennia. Our copper sheet plate comes in a range of thicknesses and we can cut it to size, supplying you with just the amount you need.

Traditionally, copper’s long list of pluses have made it a firm favourite in industry and construction: after all, it’s soft, brilliant at conducting heat and electricity, resistant to corrosion, and even has antibacterial properties. More recently, though, the metal has come into high demand by architects and interior designers simply because it looks great. Whether you’re looking for form of function, there are limitless uses for copper sheet.

    Stainless Steel

    Stainless Steel

As the name suggests, this long-term favourite of the metal world is resistant to rusting, corrosion and (you guessed it) staining. It gained its title around the time it was invented, at the beginning of the 20th century. Back then, one of the most common uses for the metal was the production of cutlery, where hygiene was (and still is) obviously a must. These days, stainless steel is used for all manner of varying needs, but the name has stood the test of time (and it is still the most popular metal for making cutlery).

Unlike the carbon steel (also known as mild steel) used as a basis for many metals, stainless steel has a minimum of 10.5% of chromium content by mass – and often contains up to 20%. Our stainless steel sheeting comes in a huge range of thicknesses to suit your project and we offer two types: 304 and 316 stainless steel.

Prices are competitive and we have lots of options. Choose the size you need, or take advantage of our free cutting service and have it trimmed down to precisely the amount that’s right for you. There’s also a choice of two finishes: dull polished or mill finished. Mill finished steel doesn’t have the “brushed” effect that’s commonly associated with this type of metal. If that’s what you’re looking for, select dull polished stainless steel sheet from the box above; this metal has been specially treated to give it the fine-line, satin-textured pattern that can often be seen on jewellery, domestic appliances and watches.

    Corten

    Corten

Corten steel sheet (also known as weathering steel) is instantly identifiable thanks to its rich, bright orange tones. Originally developed for building coal carriages in 1930s America, it is now one of the most stylish and durable metals on the market. Corten steel plate might look like it’s rusty, but thanks to clever manipulation in its processing, the outer oxidisation actually protects the steel from further corrosion, as well as giving it a unique, industrial look.

We offer cut-to-size Corten steel sheet, plus a range of stunning, ready-made Corten garden products. There’s no need to paint Corten steel to protect it, and it just looks better with age; no wonder architects, landscapers and designers love it!

    Aluzinc

    Aluzinc

Aluzinc® is a flat carbon steel, coated on both sides with an alloy of zinc and aluminium. The coating is composed of 55% aluminium, 43.4% zinc and 1.6% silicon and applied by means of a continuous hot dip galvanising process. Aluzinc® is available in a wide range of steel grades: steels for cold forming and deep drawing applications, and structural steels.

The many benefits of Aluzinc® coated steels means they are commonly used in both indoor and outdoor applications. A thin transparent layer of aluminium oxide on the top surface of the coating gives Aluzinc® a characteristic spangled silver colour that is preserved over time. The combined properties of its two metallic constituents also creates excellent corrosion resistance which is maintained at high temperatures. Its surface hardness provides good abrasion resistance while it also offers superior light and thermal reflectivity.

    Aluminium

    Aluminium

Ultra-ductile, rust resistant and super-light, our sheet aluminium is suitable for a multitude of uses. This nonmagnetic, widely recycled metal is perhaps most well-known for its role in drinks cans and other packaging. Thanks to its lightweight properties, though, it also aces aircraft engineering, luggage components, bicycles and auto parts. What’s more, aluminium is incredibly resistant to corrosion, making it a clever choice for windows, roofing and other construction jobs.

Aluminium is easily identifiable by its bright, silvery sheen. Just like the other metals we sell, we can provide your sheet aluminium in exactly the size you need, meaning no excess product will go to waste.
